Rick was born in Preston, Lancashire. From an early age he was encouraged by his drummer father to play the drums.
It didn’t take much encouragement for Rick to become obsessed with drums and his fathers record collection. Rush and Neil Peart in particular captured Ricks attention and imagination. Drum lessons quickly became a main stay along with playing extensively for many bands around the country playing all manner of styles, which gave him the experience and skill needed to move to fresh challenges.
Since the early days in learning his instrument he has since had the opportunity and good fortune to play with various artists round the world. Rick recently toured Europe with musicians from Elvis Presley’s band and the Muscle Shoals band, after completing recordings in Sun Studio’s, Memphis along side guitarist Scotty Moore.
In the past he has performed in theatre and television for shows such as Night Fever and TFI Friday, and more recently ITV’s ‘Caught in a Trap’ starring Connie Fisher.
When he is not touring, Rick is a drum and percussion tutor and teaches students in various schools and colleges as well as privately.
Rick is nothing short of a perfectionist and takes great pleasure in recreating Neil Pearts' work beat for beat and capturing the feel of the song. It is an absolute awe inspiring experience watching him play.
